T26

Neal is feeling good today. He has good color and has kept everything down for a couple days. We had an old family friend stop by this afternoon for a visit and yesterday one of our employees had a doctor’s appointment here at the U of Chicago. Kristie, her daughter and another employee stopped by and brought a box of mail. We are overwhelmed by the cards and visits from people from connections from many places made over the years. We got a card yesterday from one of the parents from my first teaching job and church in Ann Arbor years ago! It is very humbling knowing so many people are praying for us. The body of Christ in action.

I think my problem with the bread making was the water was too hot for the yeast. I’ll try again when these loaves are gone. 🙂

Nothing on the schedule for tomorrow. Thursday Neal has a doctor’s appointment and Friday has a bone marrow biopsy in honor of his 30th day on Saturday!

On the journey,
Trish

  1. Amazing what a card in the mail or a familiar face thru the door can do for the spirit. Will have my 100 day bone marrow byopsy on Thursday so maybe we’ll see you folks.

    Ever thankful,
    Steve

  2. Me again…didn’t know Dawn hit your blog today. I’ll be at the DCAM from 10:00am (pulmonary test)thru 2:00pm (Drs. aqppointment and bone marrow byopsy)and knowing how busy it can get, we will probably be there until 3:00 or so. If we don’t have a chance to visit know that you’re thought of daily.

  3. So glad Neal is feeling well today! I’ve been doing a lot of bread/roll making too lately! Here’s one of my favorites (if you want a new one to try):

(I use whole wheat flour, but I’m sure it’s even better using white :)!!)

  4. Dr. Neal and Trish,

Yes, thanks for the great visit, nice brisk walk and lunch (yummy). We all had a great time and it was so nice to see Dr. Neal.
Have a great week and weekend. Linda C

  5. What kind of bread are you making white or whole grain?

    Kim Dubs

  6. Kim,
Wheat or whole grain. Any suggestions? 🙂

    Steve and Dawn,
    I’ll call you today.

  7. Whole grain is too heavy to rise and trap the air needed to make it light and fluffy. You need to “feed” it to strengthen the glutton. I use Dough Enhancer. Here is a link, they also sell it on Amazon.com. http://www.mountaintopsmilling.com/shopcart/products.php?cat=100&cat_name=Baking Supplies

    Hope this helps! ~Kim~
