What wonderful words to hear! Read farther
As you know, over the span of our journey, we have decided that we will honor God in all our trials. I have been telling our medical staff throughout that God is faithful and able to heal me. Also that people from around the world – many we have never met – are praying for us, and my healing in particular. I have as a screen saver of Zambian pastors praying for me hands raised and heads bowed.
I had been to a healing conference with Britton about a month ago and saw God honored and his hand during that time. As we gathered in prayer groups to pray, I was the one of the 8 who was selected to be prayed for even though all they knew was my name. After prayer one woman in the came to me to explain how her grandson had no more signs of his lymphoma 2 years after treatment. She asked the doctor to admit or declare he was healed because with lymphoma, the goal is remission. The doctor said if he was clean this summer, he would declared the 15 year old was healed.
3 weeks ago I had a planned donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) (blood components). At that time I asked Dr. Kline if he was say I was healed if my numbers were zero, that it was a miracle. He said “I will even write a paper about it”.
As I returned yesterday for my exam these words came out of my doctor’s mouth. “I’m amazed that you are doing so well. Of all the cases of lymphoma like yours I have seen, yours is the most well behaved. I wouldn’t quite say it was miraculous, but it sure is close”. Hmmmmm. For him to acknowledge that a miracle was in the realm of the possible, and God entered the equation was music to our ears. A move from the scientific to the spiritual can be difficult for academics. We pray the wheels are churning and hearts are softening. We also experience the mystery of healing by God using humans in many different ways but all under God’s direction.
Of course, personally it was great news as well. The numbers are getting better and trending downward in a good way. I feel very well and after I type this I am taking a 3 mile walk with Trish. I am scheduled for a second DLI next week to see how I respond to that. There is a risk of an allergic response and attack, although it is minimal, it can be dangerous. We continue to thank God for your prayers for healing and witness to all we encounter.
Each day is blessing.
Neal
Doctor Kline probably thinks we’re just a little peculiar and right he is as Peter says “a peculiar people” we are. Thanking the Lord for your healing and all your Godportunities. Keep safe and in the shadow of His wings. Ps. 57:1
