Update on Neal

Yesterday Neal had an appointment with his oncologist to get the results of his PET scan that was taken after his last chemo. We were hoping to hear “cancer free” but not at this time. His tumor has only shrunk a little bit more since midway through his treatment. His tumor was over 10 centimeters when he started and now it is about 4 centimeters, which is good. But, there is still activity which means more treatment is needed. We go to The University of Chicago on Monday to see the lymphoma specialist that gave Neal his 2nd opinion at the beginning. She will give her recommendations for further treatment. Neal also sees the radiation oncologist on Wednesday for his consultation. Treatment options may include another chemo drug, radiation, surgery or a combination. After we gather all the information we meet back with Dr Paloyan on Nov. 5 to determine what action we will take.

I’m not going to lie, I was disappointed, upset and feeling sorry for myself much of the day yesterday. Neal looked for the positive. We had some dear friends that came to have dinner with us and just BE with us, which was a blessing. This morning I have spent time in God’s Word with His truths. Today I am claiming Psalm 29:11 “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” and 2 Samuel 22:33 “It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.”

On the journey,
Trish

    Neal and Trish,
In a Bible Study this year we are studying Isaiah and we have just finished Chapter 7 and part of 8 where God wanted to give King Ahaz of Judah a sign, yet he refused it and thought he would seek help from the pagan Assyrians instead . . . How we praise God that we see you and your family continually trusting in God and His promises for you. We are lifting each of you, and all of you, before the Lord asking that He will continue to fill you with His strength and hope.
    Love you! Gene and Keith
