Thanksgiving…..

This will be our first holiday without Neal.  As a family we have been talking about what traditions to keep and which ones to abandon.  We will be going to my brother-in-laws house for Thanksgiving dinner with the Smith side.  Friday will will keep our tradition of getting our Christmas tree at the tree farm.  Within that tradition will be some changes; Who will  be the one to go pay for the tree?, Who will put it on top of the car?, Who will put on the lights?  All things that Neal has done for years.

I am choosing to be thankful this season.  1 Thessalonians 5:18  says, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  That doesn’t mean that I have to thank God for everything that happens to me, but I can give thanks IN everything.  God still has bestowed many blessings in my life.  I am focusing on those blessings instead of focusing on what I don’t have.  How about you?

On the journey,
Trish
