I had a great weekend watching Lane and Corbin, seeing Karsten and visiting Whitney and Ty in Indianapolis. I came home with a nasty cold which I haven’t had in a long time. I got to thinking about when was the last time I was sick? Over the past two years there was only one time that I was sick. I had taken Neal to the hospital during the night because he was sick and had to be admitted. I came home becausee we were having a consultant in the office. I met with her in the morning then came home and threw up. I had the 24 hour flu bug. God was so good to allow me to be healthy during the whole time Neal was sick. The time I was sick Neal wasn’t at home! It would have been dangerous and life threatening if he got sick since his immune system was so low. Looking back, that was definitely a blessing.
I made a covenant with Neal to stay by his side in good times and bad, in sickness and health till death do us part. He did for me as well. I am also in a covenant relationship with Christ. He promises to stand by me in good times and bad, in sickness and health. Because I am in a covenant relationship with Christ I am promised eternal life in death. Neal was in that same covenant relationship with Christ so I know he is in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 9:15).
