I am so blessed with a great group of friends to support and encourage me. Yesterday a friend went with me to “chemo education.” As I listened, she took great notes. She then went home and typed them up for me, friends, and family. Afterwards, we met some other friends for lunch and then traveled to Studio 1. It’s a beauty salon in our area that caters to chemo patients. It is full of wigs, hats, turbans, scarves, lotions, clothes, etc–just about anything a cancer patient would need. Since my discouraging shopping earlier in the week for hats, this was such a blessing. We had fun picking out hats, turbans, scarves. I have decided at this time not to get a wig. If I am going to loose my hair I might as well do it with style! My friends helped make this uncomfortable situation fun!
A friend loves at all times. Proverbs 17:17
God does meet our needs but we all need people in our life that can enourage, support and speak truth into us. They are Jesus with skin on. Cancer has really showed me that I am blessed to have these people in my life. Cards and notes from people all over the world have also meant so much to me, knowing people are praying.
