I am sitting in the chemo room with Neal as I write this. He is fast asleep in one of the comfy chairs. Some are big coushy leather chairs and the one he tried today is a little stiffer leather chair with heat and massage. He told me he preferred the other leather chairs, more comfortable to sleep in! We have been here since 9:30AM and should be done around 4:00PM. He is on his last drug, retuxin. He gets benadryl before this one which makes him sleep most of the time during the 3 hours it takes to infuse. His blood counts were all fantastic–Praise God!
This morning when we got here I ran into the Breast Cancer Coordinator. I was filling her in on my progress and mentioned that I got the last of my stitches out on Wednesday and was ready to get fitted for new bras. She asked if I knew I could get fitted here at the Health Park and that insurance paid for the bras? I didn’t know that, or she told me last summer and I had forgotten. Shelly made a phone call and they had an opening right then. She took me downstairs to the ladies that are trained in bra fitting and they set me up with new bras! I feel like a completed woman!
The back story to this is that I was going to get fitted for new bras at a shop in Holland that someone told me about last Friday when we picked up Collin from soccer camp. When I went there it was closed for a family emergency. I was disappointed at the time but now know God has something better in store for me. I don’t believe for one second that my meeting Shelly this morning was a chance. God is in control and works in ways we can’t even imagine. Plus insurance pays for 2 new bras every 6 months! Who knew!!
God is good!
