Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

It has been a full week! Karsten came home from college last Thursday and will return on the 2nd. Whitney and Ty arrived last Friday night and will head to Ty’s family tomorrow. Grant, Jenni and the boys came Sunday night and went back to their new home in Ft. Wayne late Christmas Day. Britton, Michelle and their boys came Christmas Eve night after his church service and headed to Michelle’s family yesterday late morning. So we were all together for our Christmas morning traditions. There were moments of tears but I am extremely thankful that the kids were here so we could go through this Christmas together. A hard thing for me (and the kids) was writing just my name on the gift tags. Another reminder of Neal’s absence. The kids were very generous filling my stocking and getting me an IPad to fill that void. We spent the rest of the day joined by my sister having fondue.

The Smith’s came to my house for Christmas Eve dinner. We all went to my in-laws church and came back to our house for dessert. We saw some old friends but there many new faces. That was a blessing because it didn’t feel like we were there for Neal’s funeral.

I am sitting at the cancer center getting my last Herceptin (a preventative chemo)! I am scheduled for a CT scan in about a month. Praying for a clean report. 🙂

I pray you all had a blessed Christmas with family and friends celebrating the birth of Christ.

On the journey,
Trish
