While visiting my parents last week I finished reading the book I brought. My mom gave me a book she read: The Pelican Trees. She said you get drawn in right away and boy was she right!
The main character, Shelby, looses her grandfather and at the reading of the will she finds herself left out of the inheritance. Grandfather instead sends her on an incredible adventure to find herself , her inheritance, and something far more valuable. The book is filled with suspense, danger, and excitement.
I wrote down a few passages from the book that spoke to me. This one I thought was worth passing along:
“Many have taken out life insurance policies so when your time on earth comes to an end, your loved ones will be provided for to some extent, at least from a financial standpoint. Have you activated your eternal life insurance policy? The moment Jesus rose from the dead three days after dying so brutally on that rugged cross for you and me, an eternal life insurance policy was immediately taken out on your life! There are no premiums. They were paid in full on the cross that day!”
I always hated writing checks to pay the insurance premiums but now being on the receiving end of disability and then life insurance, I am thankful Neal was a good planner. I am even more thankful that Jesus provides an insurance policy that is totally free. That you Jesus!
On the journey,
Trish
