Neal and I saw Dr Lester today, my oncologist. I am scheduled to begin chemo on Tuseday, June 23. I will have 8 sessions every 2 weeks followed by 6 weeks of radiation. I will also have a few other drugs thrown in there during radiation and afterwards.

I have “chemo teaching” with a nurse this Thursday to go over what to expect and possible side effects.

Monday, June 22 I will have out patient surgery to put in a port in my right chest to administer the chemo instead of poking my veins all the time.

I like what one of the bloggers posted, “Chemo doesn’t have the last word, God does!” Amen.

Neal writes – we had a great lunch at Grand Luxe.
We were very encouraged that the Northwestern MD had the same recommendations as our local oncologist as for as treatment. Also the small bit of skin removed again and it was cancer free.

  2. The surgery for putting a port in isn’t too bad. Where are you going for the surgery? It’s usually pretty painless. I’m prayin for you and your family.

  3. God’s presence is so powerfully apparent in this journey you are on. It is a testimony to many of us as you trust God each step of the way. You are being lifted up in prayer daily. Know you are loved!

  4. Dearest Trish,

We have not checked your blog for several days because of internet challenges in Africa. Nevertheless it was great to learn that you literally danced. How I wish I was there to dance with you. We pray for you and Neal daily. My favorite scripture is John 5:17, 19-20.

  5. Trish,

i have a lot of favoite scriptures but don’t claim to be great at quoting them…i would love to share a verse now and then with you…
    todays would be: Isaiah 54:10
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed.Says the LORD, who has compassion on you. (NIV)
Peace be to you and your family.(we LOVE your Whitney!) prayers, Mike and Linda Gregory
