NEAL’S COUNTS ARE UP: WBC 4.6!!!!!! His protocal is 5 (5,000, they list it as 5 x 1,000) to be discharged! Yahoo!!! The doctor thinks his numbers will be there by tomorrow and could be discharged by Tuesday!!!
His hemoglobin is 9.4 and his platelettes are 20 (20,000, listed as 20 x 1,000)which the doctor was also pleased with. Also, Neal’s kidneys are working fine. His body is still a little swollen but they are going to let his body get rid of the fluid naturally instead of giving him more lasixs. His prograf is going to be converted over to pill form (that is the drug that helps his body engraf)today. The infectious disease doctors need to come up with a plan to convert his antibiotics over to pill form as well.
Neal knew he was feeling better because during the night he woke up thinking about things to be done and ideas that he was able to write down on paper! Just like the old days!
Yahoo!! Thank you Lord for your sovereign oversight and care. We give the Lord the praise along with the Medical expertise for making all this possible.
Those numbers are fantastic!!!

I do not know you personally, although I am from Saint Joe. I have friends who I went to school with that know you or are family to you. I have been reading your blog for a while, and I want you to know that you two are such an inspiration. I have been praying for you both, and I am just so happy to hear Neal’s numbers are going up! Praise the Lord…God is Awesome!
Praise the Lord!!!! He heard our prayers! God is truly in control, sometimes we forget. Love you, Mom and Dad
Trish & Neal,
Trish you’ve done an amazing job on writing & keeping us all up-to-date, for your insights, care & support to Neal. There are always challenges in the road ahead, but Neal has shown his determination and faithful spirit. Glad you have some special angels there for you! Romans 12:12…”Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Those of us that work with him and know him well know that this is a good sign . . . that drive that makes it hard to keep up with him yet makes us proud of him all at the same time 🙂 And, he’ll find a way to make a positive out of this somehow – he just needs to feel better to get started. Take care, you’re both in our thoughts and prayers. Sharon G
