We had a great visit at the U of Chicago Thursday. My numbers are up (still not as high as desired but up). My MD was pleased and very positive that it will be just a matter of time until they stay up where they belong – he says it can take up to a year to finally stay up.
With that news Trish asked “When can Neal go back to work?” Notice, I didn’t ask that, she did. I wonder why? So the answer is after Labor Day. I will start out part time and work my stamina up. I am already there doing administrative work and seeing a few orthodontic patients. I am definitely ready to roll!
We had a great weekend at our Red Arrow Run Car Show. We signed up 29 bone marrow donors who would be willing to give marrow to people like me who are in need of a transplant.
Although there are 9 million people on the BeTheMatch.org registry, the match chances are only 1 out of 354.
There was also a great newspaper article about Karl’s and my story in three local newspapers –

The author is looking at also submitting it to Guideposts, a Christian “Readers Digest”.
Through the article we had a chance to counsel a local couple where the husband is scheduled for a marrow transplant at U of C in September. It is interesting how we are being used by God through our experience. We were able to share our experience and pray with them.
What experiences has God brought you through that you can use to minister to others. In our culture, sharing our trials can be difficult for many reasons. You will find sharing opens up many avenues!
