Neal continues to do well! The chemo they are giving him today (cytarabine) may cause him to feel sick but they have pre-loaded him with anti-nausea meds. Yesterday Neal had a lumbar puncture to administer the chemo (intrathecal) directly up to his brain because the methotrexate does not cross the brain barrier. Sounds worse than it was, he didn’t feel a thing. We were able to walk the halls for about 45 minutes in the afternoon dragging his pole along.

Neal’s room must be in a dead zone because we have a hard time getting internet so I have to come downstairs to work on the computer. Last night when I was downstairs I ran into a gal whose husband is also in the hospital. I met her a year ago when Neal was here receiving his chemo before his tranplant. They shared a room with us for a while. I have continued to “run into her” on numerous occasions through out the year when he have been here at the doctors or hospital. We commented last night that we feel like good friends even though we are strangers. Her husband had a transplant a month after Neal’s and has also had a reoccurance of his cancer. Unfortunetley his cancer has spread. He is only 26 years old and they have a 1 1/2 year old son. We talked about peace and comfort that can only come from God. Please pray for Erica and Marty as they cope and pray for Marty’s healing.

I better go back upstairs and check on Neal.

On the journey,
Trish
