Yesterday was another first: Father’s Day without Neal. I didn’t go to church because I didn’t want to sit through a Father’s Day sermon. I kept busy running errands and going for a 10 mile walk. I am in training for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day walk.
On August 16-18, 2013, I’ll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days, camping out at night with thousands of other women in pink tents. Susan G. Komen is an organization that supports ground breaking research and scientific programs as well as grants for education, screening and treatment programs.
As many of you know, May of 2009 I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer and that is when we started this blog. The following several months involved surgeries, chemo and radiation. I know first hand the benefits of research in breast cancer as I was a recepient of a clinical trial drug. June 2 was my 4 year cancer free!
Please condsider making a donation to help me reach my goal of $2300. So far I have raised $765. You may donate online at www.The3Day.org. Click on donate and search for my personal fundraising page (under Trish Smith). Or you can call 800-996-3DAY to donate over the phone.
I appreciate your support.
On the journey,
Trish Smith
