Neal several years ago for Valentine’s Day took a box of children’s valentines and hid them around the house for me to randomly find. through out the year. Lately I have been finding new ones. One in a kitchen drawer that I don’t get into very often, one in a box in the laundry room with fall napkins, one in my socks, etc. I asked Collin if he had anything to do with the new Valentines. He said Neal had he and Grant hide them around the house a couple weeks before he died. I guess Iwill be finding them for quite a while according to Collin. I never had to wonder if Neal love me. He showed me in numerous ways. He was as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13 patient, kind, not envious, not boastful or proud. He did not dishonor others, not self-seeking or easily angered. He didn’t keep record of wrong or delight in evil but rejoiced in truth. His love always protected, trusted, hoped and persevered. I never have to wonder about God’s love for me either. He demonstrated his love by sending His one and only Son into the world so I might live through Him. And because Christ loved us we are to love others. Neal and I had engraved on our wedding bands 1John 1:19 “We love because he first loved us.”
Thank you , Lord, for your love for us and your gift of Neal’s love for me.
On the journey,
Trish
