Several Updates

Neal had the toughest weekend since treatment started. He was extremely tired and had diarrhea. He slept a lot and after imodium and pedialyte feels much better today. He was able to work which is a blessing. If that is his worst, we’ll take it! Each day will be better until his last treatment on October 1.:)

Update on Neal’s brother: Karl’s surgery was last Wednesday at Northwestern University and went very well. The doctor was able to get all of the tumor. I saw him on Friday and he looked great, was in great spirits and back to his usual personality. Remarkably, he came home Saturday night! Thursday they will see the doctor again and get the pathology report. Thank you for your prayers.

I had a follow-up visit today at Northwestern University since my oncologist retired in May. They will follow me for the next few years since I was in a clinical trial study for women that were Her2 positive. I took an oral chemo, Tykerb, for a year that I finished in August instead of taking Herceptin through my port. Things look great! So I have been officially cancer free for 15 months!

It looks like tomorrow or Wednesday Neal and I will be grandparents again! The doctor will induce Britton and Michelle’s baby tomorrow morning at 7AM. The baby’s due date is not until October 15 but Michelle’s amniotic fluid is low so they need to take the baby early. Please pray for Michelle and the baby’s health and safety. We are very excited to meet this little guy:)

God continues to test our dependence on Him. We do know that He is in control and gives us peace, comfort and strength that can only come from Him.

On the journey,
Trish
