No More Hair

Yesterday morning my hair was coming out in clumps in the shower and when I blew it dry. I didn’t think it would affect me like it did but I cried. I stuck a hat on my head so I wouldn’t gross people out. Neal shaved my head last night. It was weird having him shave my head since I am the one usually giving him the buzz cut.

Today is a new day and I have a better attidtude. I tied on a scarf with a big bow in the back–it doesn’t look too bad!

I opened my Bible this morning and this verse poppped out at me: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3:3-4

I guess God is teaching me in a big way humility and working on my inner beauty. 🙂

  1. Trish–we’re in the North Woods this week with varying members of the family coming and going. Remember last year when all of the guys got their SHORT haircuts–even Collin? You’d fit right in. Hang in there it will grow back!!
Cammie left for Kenya on Wed. Haven’t heard from her as yet, but she can check e-mail if they find an internet cafe in Nairobe.
We are all praying for you daily–many times a day.

God is GOOD–all the time. We love you

  2. Your inner beauty is already a great example to all of us – especially your kids, and I’m sure you look more beautiful than you think without hair!!!

  3. Trish,

I know God is in the process of refining you, and you will come out of this experience closer to Him than you ever imagined. You are in my prayers daily- I look forward to seeing your smiling face again!
