I’m watching the presidential debates and missing Neal for a couple reasons. He would be sitting here saying something like, “That’s not true.” “Oh, come on.” “He’s being rude.” “Tell the whole story.” Neal enjoyed keeping up the news and politics so he was my source of information. A friend and I saw the movie 2016 on Sunday. Neal would have really enjoyed it and given his commentary as well. A journalist investigated President Obama’s background to see if he could understand why he makes the decisions he does. The journalist traveled to where Obama lived, talked to people that knew him, looked into his mentors, etc. It was very interesting and worth seeing. I guess I’m on my own this election to figure out who to vote for.
Last night Collin had a soccer game and scored a goal! I got a lump in my throat. When we got home I shared that with Collin. We talked about we were sad that Neal wasn’t there to see it. We are also anticipating “Senior Night” at the Monday game where the senior players are recognized with their parents on the field at half time. It’s going to be hard not having Neal there. Collin said he has been thinking about it since before Neal passed. We anticipate some tears.
I leave tomorrow afternoon for Texas! I am looking forward to a weekend with a change of scenery and spending time with a great friend.
I think I’ve seen enough of the debate for today. 🙂
On the journey,
Trish
