Today I was able to take a shower after my port placement and actually felt like taking one. I feel pretty good so far today. Yesterday was a little rough; felt nauseous, didn’t throw up but wished I would. I couldn’t eat anything. That is no fun especially since we are getting some fabulous meals from friends.
A couple friends came over yesterday to continue our Beth Moore Daniel study. We were in Daniel 4 where King Nebuchadnezzar had a vision of a great tree. The tree was chopped down and destroyed; yet leaving the stump with its roots in the ground but with a band of iron and bronze around it in the new grass of field. Daniel interpretated the dream to King Neb to mean that he was that tree, thinking he was mightier than all. The lesson was about divine discipline–those who walk in pride God will humble. I think God is cutting me down to a stump yet he is covering me with iron and bronze to protect me. I think one of the keys is to have deep roots in the Word of God. You all have been so wonderful to encourage me with scripture. The goal is that I will grow back and bear much fruit. The bottom line of the lesson was : The way up is down.
I’m off to a check with the plastic surgeon. I hope to get clearance to drive today!!
Have a great day!
Trish
I did get the okay to drive!
i had picked out this verse to send and just read your blog and i can’t help but think how awesome God is coordinating thoughts together.
Jeremiah 17:7&8 (NLT)
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit.

Mom! We are hanging out in Venice right now and just got off the cruise ship. We are hanging here today and then we fly out tomorrow. Just got caught up on the blog…we’ve been wondering how you are doing and what’s been going on.
Are you and dad home Sunday night? We want to stop by when we are passing through back to Holland. I’ll call you when we get in to Chicago tomorrow afternoon.
Love you, praying for you.
