2nd chemo

Yesterday I received my 2nd chemo. My daughter has been here for a week so she took me. It’s a whole different world in the big chemo room with navy blue leather chairs. Some people alone reading or sleeping; some people with others along but not talking; and some like Whitney and I playing Skipbo to pass the time.

My PA put me on a differnt combination of anti-nausea meds, which seems to be working. I haven’t felt sick just tired. I am to get my blood drawn every Monday and Thursday now. My PA wants to monitor my counts to see if there is pattern. It appears now that my count goes low about 5 days after chemo and then slowy rises. Last Monday it was 300 by Thursday it was 500 (I didn’t get a call it was low because of the holiday) and this past Monday it was up to 1,000, which allowed me to take chemo. Normal white counts are between 4,500-10,000 but chemo brings them down.

I did start to loose my hair today in the shower. You can’t really tell after I blew it dry. I wonder what tomorrow will be like?

Whitney and I were busy beavers this last week cleaning and organizing. I wanted to take advantage of the help and my energy. Britton, Michelle, Grant, Jenni and my sister Cheri came Friday for 4th of July. Cheri stopped in Indiana and got some awesome fireworks for us to shoot off at our beach. Britt, Michelle and Cheri left Sat. morning but Grant and Jenni stayed until Sunday. Our little grandson will be born in 3 weeks! I especially missed Collin since he was the only one not here.

A good friend called this morning and reminded me that I will have many opportunites to show God’s power. “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpasing power is from God and not from us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7

Blessings,
Trish

  1. I sure hope those fireworks from Indiana were legal in Michigan:) We are praying for your white count to stay where it needs to be. God is good! See you tonight,…
