Labor Day Reunion….

Our family was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for Neal’s visitation and funeral.  We have appreciated the food, cards, flowers and memorials.  Neal planned his own funeral and I think it was just the way he wanted, a celebration of his life.  I’m still working on getting a recording of the service uploaded.

This past spring we cancelled our annual Labor Day Reunion for my mom’s family.  We have been doing this for 28 years but a close friend’s daughter was getting married this past Sunday and we were to be involved in the wedding.  With Neal’s passing we were not able to attend.  Many of my relatives came in for the funeral so afterwards they came over to the house.  So we decided we ended up having the reunion after all!

Britton and Grant’s family’s left this afternoon.  I think the little boys were ready to be in their own houses.  Whitney, Ty and Karsten are staying till the weekend.  Collin went back to school today.  We said at breakfast today that Neal’s passing still doesn’t seem real.

We have felt God’s peace that passes all understanding.

On the journey,
Trish
